Our New Addition

We did it, we finally have a horse trailer that will fit all the horses Shawn needs when he goes hunting and packing in the mountains. We have been saving for two years now and decided to just order one that has all the bells and whistles on it that we wanted. Shawn spent alot of time wheeling and dealing so we were able to get it for a really good price! Way to go Shawn.

Cub Scouts

Kolt received his Bear patch in Cub Scouts tonight. They also had a cute pack meeting where they all learned how to play marbles. We have finally been release as Den leaders after 4 years straight. It's kinda nice to go to an activity and not have to go early to set it up or stay late to clean it up!

Season Ticket Holders!

I am so excited! We just bought season tickets for the National Finals Rodeo! We have been on a waiting list for years and our name finally came up. The only thing is we had to buy all 10 days (4 seats) Yikes! These tickets are in such demand that between family and friends we should be okay! We have been going down to this rodeo for the past 15 years. I just wish I could afford to go all 10 days!

His And Hers

My Trailer Shawn's Trailer (aka The Man Cave) Yep he did it---- Shawn bought him and the boys a MAN CAVE! He was able to pick this little trailer up for $500.00 bucks so we decided to buy it and keep it up at our property so they would have a place to stay when they go up. They took me up tonight to show it off and I do have to say I was pretty impressed! It's even got a full tub, shower and fancy silver sparkle wall paper in the bathroom!! The boys think the bunk bed is the best thing ever. The trailer is 30 some odd years old and the cushions and floor look like new. It will work perfect for them and then I don't have to worry about my nice trailer getting all yucky. We gathered up some stuff from home to furnish it but he still needs a few things like silverware and pans. If you know of someone getting rid of some house ware stuff let me know! They don't seem to be too picky. ha ha This is a bull moose that was right off the side of the road!

Country Boys Can Survive

Kolt's first Grouse 9 yrs old Yesterday was opening day of the Grouse hunt. The boys headed out at 5:30 a.m. to be the first ones out. They had so much fun. Kolt was able to bag his first grouse. They love the sport and they love to eat it! I guess this is teaching them good survivor skills! I'm sure they will be having a feast Monday when I get home from work.
(The boys are only allowed to cook wild game when I'm not around to smell it or eat it)

Shawn's Saddle

Posted by Picasa
Shawn has been working so hard on his saddle and it's finally finished. He has done such an excellent job and has had such an awesome Saddle maker/friend right there with him. Marty has spent countless hours helping Shawn and we really appreciate his expertise. Let's not forget his wife and two cute little boys for putting up with Shawn at their home every Wednesday until the wee hours of the morning and having to get up early and go to work the next day. He could not have done it with out them Ü

Another one bites the dust!

Today was opening day for the Dove hunt. Shawn told the boys as soon as they got home and had their homework done he would take them out. I have never seen them do homework that fast ever! Maybe it should be hunting season year round- Well maybe not. Kolt was so excited because he could actually pack a gun and shoot right along with them. Here is a picture of Kolt and his first dove. Way to go bud.

Just a little Monkey business

We went to the Box Elder County Fair and Rodeo this past weekend. The boys love to go and pet ALL the animals- I don't think they missed a single bunny! After we got done petting all the animals, going through the booths and of course riding the mechanical bull, we went over to watch the rodeo. One of the specialty acts was "Team Ghost Riders" they are real live monkeys that ride cattle dogs and chase goats into a pen. It was so fun to watch their little heads bob. They are not even tied on they hold the reins all by them selves. It was amazing!!
I wanted to bring one home Ü
