Christmas At The Dickamore Barn

Kolt's school teacher and her family do the funnest things. They put on a Nativity program in their barn this year. They had it all decorated, a movie projector, hometown guitar players and a story teller. As we went into the barn she quickly grabbed Kolt and said she needed more animals in the play, he was such a good sport!. They had bales of straw lined out in rows for the parents to sit and watch. It was standing room only the night we went, they estimated about 160 people. We had such a great time! They also served us hot apple cider and fresh glazed donuts Yum!!

National Finals Rodeo- Las Vegas 2010

The first night of the 2010 National Finals Rodeo Grand entry!
At the different expo's they have these cute little shows where they interview the cowboys and such. They kinda have them set up like the Jay Leno show and are really quite funny. This year Justin Mcbride (PBR bullrider) was at the Country Christmas Expo and they did a little interview with him and then he sang a few songs. Shawn and I were able to sneek out and go watch him in concert that night too! He really sings pretty darn good. Luke Perry and Tuf Hedeman introduced him and stayed for a bit while people took their pictures with them.

I decided to switch things up a bit and when I got invited to go to a Vegas show I gave in and spent the $117.00 for a ticket to Mystere. I have to say I would much rather watch Cowboys in Wranglers roll around in the dirt than watch a bunch of Asian men in leotards. I must just be a country girl at heart because I did not enjoy it one bit. I kept looking at my watch waiting for it to get over. Next year I think I will just stick to the Rodeo!

The boys watch "Pawn Stars" on T.V. and they were so excited when Shawn found the actual pawn shop in Vegas! It was crazy there with tons of people. They had Taxi's and Limo's in the parking lot waiting for people. Never knew a pawn shop could be that popular.
My cute cowboys!

Hometown Cowboy Christmas- Brenn Hill

Kyle, Brenn Hill, Kolt Tonight we decided to swing by the Hometown Cowboy Christmas at the Weber County Fairgrounds. Brenn Hill was doing a little concert over there. We have really started to like his music because he writes most of his own songs and alot of them are about the places Shawn and the boys ride. After the concert we bought a few of his cd's and he offered to sign them for the boys! He was really cute with them and patted them on the back and told them to "Keep it cowboy boys, it's a dying generation"

Punkin Party

Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve had their annual Halloween Pumpkin carving party! We carved our pumpkins and then enjoyed some homemade pie...Yummy!
Grandma surprised us again in her Halloween costume. Grandpa had a great idea and so he whipped out the power tools. Aunt Dawni had to help the boys gut the pumpkins because I get hives when I do it. We later found out that Kolt does too. Kolt gave the power tools a try and made me a cute polka dot pumpkin! I LOVE it. Kyle taking full advantage of the roto-zip. He had his pumpkin carved in no time at all.
Kyle's "John Wayne" pumpkin Kolt's "Scary Skeleton Face" pumpkin
Grandma's "Grim Reaper"
Jani's "Cute Polka Dot" pumpkin
Aunt Dawni's "White Polka Dot" pumpkin
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Elk Hunt 2010

Scott (Shawn's brother) Shawn and Gary (Shawn's dad) Not to shabby for a general tag! All three got a 6 point.
Cory (Shawn's good friend)
Well, It looks like I am going to have a freezer full of meat this winter. Good thing the boys and Shawn LOVE to eat it. Shawn and his family and friends have had a pretty successful Elk hunt so far. They had just a general tag for Wyoming and was able to harvest 3 nice 6 point elk. The hunt is still not over but Shawn's brother hurt his knee and had to come out so they may end up going back to get him one too. The boys were pretty proud of their dad and so far they are following right in his footsteps. They LOVE to hunt and are begging to go any chance they get. The deer hunt starts this weekend so who knows, we just might have to go buy another freezer! So much shopping so little time is all I have to say, I just tell Shawn to make sure he leave the checkbook home for me and I will be just fine :o)

Biker Dudes

The boys have been helping me around the house while Shawn has been gone and yesterday I even talked them into going to a boutique, Rainbow Gardens and then out to lunch. Today, I decided I had better take them to do something they want to do. They decided to go to the bike trail and dirt bike jumps in Riverdale. They had a ball. I just sat back and relaxed, got some of my craft ribbon ready, read a magazine and then just sat and watched all the people. It was a nice relaxing afternoon.

I Won--Free Pictures

A couple weeks ago I was at a boutique and there was a cute lady there that was giving away a free photo session. I entered my name and sure enough I won! My hubby and boys are not much on getting pictures taken and really I get too stressed out about it so I never end up getting them done. This was perfect because I knew as tight as Shawn is, this was my only chance. The last family pictures we had taken was when Kolt was 18 mo old. He will be 11 in January! Here are just a few of them. Some are not my favorite but hey when ya get them for free, how can I complain Ü

That was a Cinch

Kyle is becoming quite the handyman. While Shawn is out working in the shop, Kyle has learned how to tie these cinches. A hand tied cinch like these can sell anywhere from $50.00 to $300.00. He has sold them to a few guys that work for Shawn and so far they have been pretty happy with them. Not too bad when you consider he bought the kit off the Internet and pretty much taught himself! He is putting all the money he has earned so far back into supplies so he can do more colors and fancier patterns.

Grouse Hunt

Shawn and the boys drew out on a Sage Grouse hunt in Rich county. (on the border of Wyoming) Shawn's friend Cory and his boy Lex also drew out and went along with them. They all had a great time and every single one of them got their limit! Not too shabby for a Saturday afternoon!

Pumpkins 4 Sale

The boys are selling Pumpkins, Cornstalks and Straw this year. They are having so much fun and actually they have been pretty successful at it too. Shawn has a kid that works for him that does farming on the side, he offered a deal to us last year, but he got so busy and never got us any of the stuff, so this year when we went to go get our pumpkins from him we mentioned it and we came home with a truck load of pumpkins to sell! The boys are saving all their hard earned cash for souvenir money when we go to Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo in December. We sell out pretty fast so stop by soon for the best selection Ü

Meet My New Babysitter

The boys are having so much fun on their little dirt bike. If I would have known it would keep them this busy, I would have bought it along time ago!

Shout Out For My Sista!

Before
After I know these pictures probably are not the best example however, I just want to show you what an awesome job my sister has done on her weight loss journey. So far (last time I heard anyways) she had lost a total of 63 pounds! She has helped me every step of the way with my weight loss journey and has always given me the confidence and great advice every step of the way. She is the very 1st person I call every week from the parking lot after my weigh in! She is always so excited for me and is always cheering me on. I LOVE ya sis and I definitely could not do it with out you Ü You look amazing and I am so proud of you!

Grouse Hunting Time

Shawn and the boys headed out first thing this morning to see about getting them some Grouse. It was a pretty successful day for them. They brought enough home for their very own little feast. Yes, I said THEIR feast. I will not be partaking any of it! I will stick to good ole' regular people food! They already have it marinating in their very own "secret sauce" YUCK. The deal is, if they go and get them they have to eat them and it's a good thing they LOVE it!! I would have myself some sad little hunters if they didn't. I guess I know what they will be cooking while I am at work Monday.

Camping in the Uintahs-Gilbert Meadows

The boys on firewood duty Our home away from home
We drove down to Fort Bridger one day and went to the Rendezvous- Wow was that a sight. Some of these dudes really get into all the mountain man stuff.
Kyle putting away his bow after a unsuccessful day of hiking and hunting.
Grandpa Steve getting all geared up and ready to ride.
Kolt & Kyle heading out for another game of cops and robbers with Shawn chasing them on another 4 wheeler trying to shoot them with air soft BB guns. (They all managed to get a few welts on them) Dumb boys!!! Grandpa & Grandma all hooked up and ready to roll.
We went on a fun little camping trip over Labor Day. The plan was to camp somewhere between State line and China Meadows, apparently that was the plan for a whole bunch of people. It was so crazy busy that every little pull off or open spot was full with people camping. We kept driving on the main dirt road and ended up over at Gilbert Meadows. It was alot more quiet over there and it turned out to be really a nice place to camp.
