Christmas 2008

We had a really nice Christmas this year!! The boys made out like Bandits- Santa brought them a Wii and lots of fun stuff to go with- He also brought them each a new gun. Then it was off to see Grandpa Steve and Grandma Carol. They bought the boys "Doodle bugs" or tote gotes is what they use to call them years ago- They have a lawn mover engine in them and are kinda like a cross between a motorcycle and a 3 wheeler. Later that afternoon we went to Grandpa and Grandma Douglas' for a steak dinner! Kyle got Rock band for the Wii and Kolt got a remote controlled Snowmobile-
Kolt with his youth Remington Express Shotgun
Erin & Kyle trying out Rock band Kyle with his a full size Rugar 22 Rifle- Camo his favorite color
Kolt & Kyle with their Doodle bugs!
They had a blast- It was really snowy so they would keep snow blowing a patch to ride then come in for a little bit so we could put their snow clothes in the dryer and then as soon as they were dry they were out riding again!!!
Thank you everyone for all of the nice gifts.

Thank Heaven's For Little Boys Ü

I am so thankful for my boys! They are so good to me- Kyle came right home from school today and did the driveway for me. He is such a hard worker and willing too! He does things for us without a fight and I am so happy he is a part of our family. He's kinda like a little man around the house!

Shawn Was Not Too Happy

Shawn was not too happy when he came home from work today and found this!! Kyle in my new Christmas Apron. His first words out of his mouth were
"What are you doing with my BOY?" I am soooo glad the boys like to help me make treats. I LOVE to bake and did not get any girls so I will take what I can get. Thanks for the chocolate chip cookies Kyle-
They taste great Ü

Bar J Wranglers Christmas Concert

We went to the Bar J Wranglers Christmas Concert tonight. We had lots of fun- We always see them when we go to Jackson Hole in the summer- This time it was fun because they did their Christmas music. It was a fun family night!! Some of the songs were pretty touching- reminded me alot of my mom and grandpa White- Kyle and I cried and cried. This is a good time to be thankful for our family and the times we get to spend with them for "some" those days have been cut short- Merry Christmas.

He has already told Shawn all the hunts he wants to put in for. Sounds like he's going to be one busy little boy... Congratulations Kolt!!!!

The roads were terrible . After the graduation we all went to Maddox for lunch! Congratulations Erin!!! She graduated with Honors and a Bachelors degree. The neat thing about it is -----she is only 21- WOW!!!

Christmas Tree & Decor

And the Stockings were hung
from the chimney with care!

How Bout' Them Cowboys!!

Photo
We Just got back from the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas- We had soooo much fun- The boys did great too- I seen so many people I knew. It's funny when you go out of town and actually see people that live here in town that you never see!! I also seen several people that I work with. We were able to go and do more stuff now that the boys are getting older- Our schedule was pretty much up at 7 A.M. breakfast, Shopping ( They have 3 different Expo's that go on during the rodeo-Cowboy Christmas, Country Christmas and The Cowboy Market place) They usually take almost all day to go thru. They have tons of vender's with neat stuff that you can't get here in town- After shopping we would go to dinner- Watch the Rodeo and then a fun activity after the Rodeo- Stop for a Ice cream- get to bed about midnight and start all over again! It was AWESOME!! I can't wait til Saturday the final round to see where our UTAH Cowboys end up-

Tough as nails- (or should I say Needles...)

Kolt had surgery on his foot today to get out a needle that he had stepped on. He stepped on it about 3 years ago and he had surgery then but they could not get it out. We had a second opinion from a different Dr. and he said to wait until it started to bother him and so that's what we did...So here we are three years later...Kolt kept telling us his foot was hurting again- I took a look at it and sure enough the needle had worked it's way to the top of his foot. I could see a red spot on his foot where it was trying to exit-When we went to the Dr.(The 3rd one) and got new x-rays they show that the needle has actually broke into 2 pieces. One was on the top of his foot by his toes and the other one is on the bottom of his foot and stuck in the muscle- The Dr. said it would probably do more harm than good to go after the piece on the bottom of his foot. Today they were able to get the piece out by his toes so it will stop hurting him and hopefully we will be done for a while..Having all "BOYS" there is never a dull moment or needle apparently!

CAUTION- Men At Work!

Our barn
Shawn's leather shop in the back- Tonight we poured one more section of concrete in our barn/Shawn's leather shop- No, these men are not the local inmates from jail. They are the guys that work with Shawn for the city- We have had to pour our cement in 3 sections because it's to hard for them to finish more than that at one time. It's a little easier on the checkbook that way too. Shawn is still working on his shop in the back. He will be able to do all his leather work out there. It will be so nice to get his mess and sewing machines out of MY laundry room!!!

Cub Scouts Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we had the Cub Scouts carve pumpkins to display in the Weber County fair grounds PUMPKIN ALLEY! The pumpkin alley is Thursday, October 30th from dusk til about 10 p.m. You go and walk around all the decorated and carved pumpkins in the dark. They have all sorts of sponsors so they are usually handing out cookies, chocolate milk, orange juice and all kinds of treats. It' a fun family night with the kids. The best part is it's FREE!!!

Halloween Fun Times

Tonight the boys, Scott & Erin and I went to the Haunted Hollow- It was pretty fun and scary too! I was really surprised that Kyle was more scared than Kolt- Not to say Kolt was not on edge all night! When the chain saw man came after Erin she fell down and took Scott with her- That was worth going right there- (Sorry Erin) It's a tad bit pricey- $15.00 each even for kids-I guess that's another reason why I go to work! All in all it was a pretty fun night considering Shawn was too chicken to come with us-He just might find out that there are 3 little MONSTERS at home just waiting for the chance to scare the crap out of him- We'll get you tough guy! Ü

Kyle, Kolt & Brooke

Shawn and the boys have been taking Brooke to a Pheasant Ranch in Tremonton to work her and get her ready for pheasant hunting- They are having alot of fun this year- Kyle is old enough to bird hunt now so they are out every chance they get- Kolt is the other bird dog for now- He don't care- He has a blast too- This is what they did while I was at the movie last night- It all works out they get to go do what they like and I get to go do what I like! it's a win-win- I was so glad they thought of me and the blog and took a few pictures for me!! Sorry the pictures are so dark!

Cub Scouts Bike Derby

Tonight at Cub scouts pack meeting they did a bicycle derby- They put cones out in the parking lot and had the kids do different obstacles with their bikes-After that we all went inside and the kids made up their own personalized license plate- Kyle chose 2COOL4U and Kolt could not decide on one so I had him use the one off valerie's Corvette- 4BENAQT (For being a cutie) They voted and Kolt's won!! Pretty Funny.

Home work Bites!

My poor Kyle, He is in the 6th grade this year and is in an advanced class which is great except for all the home work- He has really been getting a bunch lately. The sad thing is half the stuff I have no clue how to do! Shawn has been gone hunting so between me working late, picking up kids and home work we have not had alot of fun. I had to take my car in to get the back bumper painted so my Dad was so nice to let me use his brand new truck for a few days! It was so nice of him- I hate being inconvenienced and no car to drive! LOVE YOU DAD!!! My sister & Mother in law have also been there to help with the boys getting them after school- cooking dinner & doing their homework before I get off work. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have family to help- I usually don't get home til about 8 p.m. so there is no way I could do it without them! The neighbor even offered to irrigate for me! (yahoo!!) It's just not the same for me when the man of the house is not around- A few less messes but taking care of the house, horses, family & trying to paint my craft orders it's crazy around here this week!
That's about all I have been up to- Hopefully I will have something fun to post soon Ü

Swiss Days & Strawberry

This weekend we went to Swiss days and camped at Strawberry reservoir- Kind of a trade off- I like to shop & the boys like to fish!!I'm not use to this blogging stuff-I took my camera with every intention of taking a few pictures to post on the blog and sure enough left it in trailer every time- Dang it!! The boys caught a bunch of really nice cutthroat most of them 3 or 4 pounds- No fish stories told here-That's why every time I mention Swiss days they are all for it! Sorry no pictures to post. I'll try and be better next time!

Bear Lake

We went to Bear lake 2 weeks ago- It was my first time there! We have been to so many other places but never Bear lake- It was really fun- Kolt learned how to water ski- He was able to get up on his first try!! I was so proud of him- Kyle does really well water skiing- He was getting so brave on the tube too- My dad is so funny--- He got in a little blow up raft on the beach area I think he actully thought the waves would float him out- We laughed so hard my sides hurt- Bless his heart!
