Today the boys and their friends made a cute little Ginger bread house. They had such a fun time decorating it and to my surprise were very creative! At times it was hard to determine who had the most frosting the house or them. Kolt was trying to eat it just as fast as Kyle was trying to get it on the house! Oh what fun Christmas memories!

Temple Square

Saturday night we rode the Front Runner down to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. We had never rode the Front Runner or Trax so the boys thought it was pretty cool. After seeing all the beautiful lights we went shopping at the Gateway and then to dinner at Apple bee's.

Viva Las Vegas

We had such a fun time in Vegas. I can't believe how much there is to see and how little time you really have. We were there for 5 nights and still did not get to everything I wanted to see. The rodeo was fantastic! We go to so many rodeo's each year and every time we go to Vegas I see something I have never seen done before, these cowboys are the best of the best and their talent is amazing. This year we went to one of the award ceremonies after the rodeo and got to watch them get their buckle for winning the round. Each round pays about 17k and there are 10 rounds in the NFR so were talking some serious cash $$. There were so many COWBOYS I thought there for a minute I had died and gone to heaven!

It's RODEO time!

I'm so excited it's finally here. We love going to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo. We have been going every year for the past 15 years or so. The Cowboy Christmas Expo, Country Christmas Expo and Country Market are incredible, the shopping is unbelievable and this year we have been working extra hard doing lots of crafts to insure we would have plenty of spending money. (I think it's already burning a hole in my pocket! he-he)
Good luck to our UTAH cowboys!

Only My Kid!

Kolt who is in 4th grade this year was asked to draw a Thanksgiving picture for school. This is what he came up with..... A Turkey in the cross hairs of his scope! I wonder if he has been Pheasant hunting to much!

So You Think You Can Dance

The top girls
Randi & Evan
The whole gang!
Me, my sister, and few girls from work went to So You Think You Can Dance. It was SO much fun. (other than the girl sitting next to me chonking and popping her gum all night, anyone that know me very well knows this drives me absolutely CRAZY.... ugh!) We had awesome seats, 15 rows off the floor! We could see the dancers perfect. Before the show we stopped at Olive garden for a yummy Chicken Alfredo pizza. If you have never tried it I say you definitely need to, I give it a TWO THUMBS up for sure. Then it was off to pay $10.00 bucks just to park and walk a good mile to the building! Gotta love girls night out.

Glitter Punkins

Today me and the boys decided to be a little crafty. We decided we would make glitter punkins. They had a ball with all the messy spray paint. At times I was wondering who had more paint & glitter on them, the punkins or the boys. This picture does not do much for them. They really did turn out darling!

Our New Addition

We did it, we finally have a horse trailer that will fit all the horses Shawn needs when he goes hunting and packing in the mountains. We have been saving for two years now and decided to just order one that has all the bells and whistles on it that we wanted. Shawn spent alot of time wheeling and dealing so we were able to get it for a really good price! Way to go Shawn.

Cub Scouts

Kolt received his Bear patch in Cub Scouts tonight. They also had a cute pack meeting where they all learned how to play marbles. We have finally been release as Den leaders after 4 years straight. It's kinda nice to go to an activity and not have to go early to set it up or stay late to clean it up!

Season Ticket Holders!

I am so excited! We just bought season tickets for the National Finals Rodeo! We have been on a waiting list for years and our name finally came up. The only thing is we had to buy all 10 days (4 seats) Yikes! These tickets are in such demand that between family and friends we should be okay! We have been going down to this rodeo for the past 15 years. I just wish I could afford to go all 10 days!

His And Hers

My Trailer Shawn's Trailer (aka The Man Cave) Yep he did it---- Shawn bought him and the boys a MAN CAVE! He was able to pick this little trailer up for $500.00 bucks so we decided to buy it and keep it up at our property so they would have a place to stay when they go up. They took me up tonight to show it off and I do have to say I was pretty impressed! It's even got a full tub, shower and fancy silver sparkle wall paper in the bathroom!! The boys think the bunk bed is the best thing ever. The trailer is 30 some odd years old and the cushions and floor look like new. It will work perfect for them and then I don't have to worry about my nice trailer getting all yucky. We gathered up some stuff from home to furnish it but he still needs a few things like silverware and pans. If you know of someone getting rid of some house ware stuff let me know! They don't seem to be too picky. ha ha This is a bull moose that was right off the side of the road!

Country Boys Can Survive

Kolt's first Grouse 9 yrs old Yesterday was opening day of the Grouse hunt. The boys headed out at 5:30 a.m. to be the first ones out. They had so much fun. Kolt was able to bag his first grouse. They love the sport and they love to eat it! I guess this is teaching them good survivor skills! I'm sure they will be having a feast Monday when I get home from work.
(The boys are only allowed to cook wild game when I'm not around to smell it or eat it)

Shawn's Saddle

Posted by Picasa
Shawn has been working so hard on his saddle and it's finally finished. He has done such an excellent job and has had such an awesome Saddle maker/friend right there with him. Marty has spent countless hours helping Shawn and we really appreciate his expertise. Let's not forget his wife and two cute little boys for putting up with Shawn at their home every Wednesday until the wee hours of the morning and having to get up early and go to work the next day. He could not have done it with out them Ü

Another one bites the dust!

Today was opening day for the Dove hunt. Shawn told the boys as soon as they got home and had their homework done he would take them out. I have never seen them do homework that fast ever! Maybe it should be hunting season year round- Well maybe not. Kolt was so excited because he could actually pack a gun and shoot right along with them. Here is a picture of Kolt and his first dove. Way to go bud.

Just a little Monkey business

We went to the Box Elder County Fair and Rodeo this past weekend. The boys love to go and pet ALL the animals- I don't think they missed a single bunny! After we got done petting all the animals, going through the booths and of course riding the mechanical bull, we went over to watch the rodeo. One of the specialty acts was "Team Ghost Riders" they are real live monkeys that ride cattle dogs and chase goats into a pen. It was so fun to watch their little heads bob. They are not even tied on they hold the reins all by them selves. It was amazing!!
I wanted to bring one home Ü

It's almost done!

Last week Shawn was able to put the first coat of oil on his saddle. He still has a few more steps and few little details to finish it and it will be all done. He has done an amazing job!

Saddle Update

It's getting there! Shawn is almost done with his saddle. He has had so much fun working with Marty and has really established a great friendship too! He has been driving to Wellsville a few nights a month and working for just a few hours on it. He has learned so much and can't wait to start on another one here at home.
